SYNOPSIS: The 'Pump Boys' sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and the 'Dinettes,' Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and off-Broadway. "Both musically and theatrically, a triumph of ensemble playing. It doesn't merely celebrate the value of friendship and life's simple pleasures, it embodies them."-The New York Times ROLES NEEDED: Jackson.....male.....sing & play lead guitar L.M......male.....sing & play piano (intermediate to advanced level) Eddie.....male.....sing & play bass Jim.....male.....sing & play rhythm guitar Prudie Cupp.....female.....sing, some tap ability Rhetta Cup.....female.....ALREADY CAST AUDITIONS AND IMPORTANT DATES Male musicians should bring their instruments & prepare 2 country songs. Female musicians should prepare 2 country songs with their own CD.No Broadway style music will be accepted.Must bring own music. CD player & piano will be available, but no accompanist. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A perusal copy is available at the theatre. Rehearsals begin Monday, April 6. Production dates are June 5 - June 21.
