Under the direction of the volunteer board of directors, the executive director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for the CACPC staff, programs, and mission execution. He/She will develop a deep knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and plans of the organization. The executive director will ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, consistent quality in finance and administration, fund development, and communication, and will recommend timelines and resources to achieve strategic goals. The executive director has seven key areas of responsibility: (more detailed information is available upon request)
Administration
- Supervise daily agency operations, including supervision of six (6) direct reports
- Recommend policies to the Board for effective operations and adherence to Texas Standards for Children’s Advocacy Centers.
Financial Management
- Develop the annual budget in collaboration with the Board treasurer; monitor the organization's financial position to ensure solvency and full utilization of funds; with the Treasurer, provide regular budget updates upon request
- Direct financial operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable; ensure the agency's financial management policies are followed and sufficient internal control is maintained
- Ensure compliance with funder/donor contractual agreements.
Human Resources
- Provide overall direction and control of the human resources function
- Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate all staff members
Public and Community Relations
- Seek opportunities to increase public awareness regarding child abuse and neglect, as well as opportunities to conduct and/or participate in abuse and neglect prevention activities
- On a regular basis, engage in activities to educate the community on the work of CACPC; provide individuals, groups, and business with opportunities to get involved with the CAC as volunteers, donors, and supporters
Fund Development
- Cultivate new donor relationships and manage existing donors; ensure that all contributions are accurately recorded
- Assist Board members in planning and implementing fundraising efforts
Board Relations
- Assist with orientation and training for Board members
- Support current Board members in recruitment of new members
- Report regularly to Board members regarding organizational, financial, and programmatic issues and keep the Board fully and accurately informed
Program Services
- Supervise professional staff members working directly with child abuse victims and non-offending caregivers
- Ensure compliance with all program guidelines, protocols, regulations, statutes, and Texas Standards for Children’s Advocacy Centers
- Cultivate active relationships with all partner agencies and maintains effective communication with partners regarding CACPC clients
- Monitor program delivery to ensure that appropriate services are provided
QUALIFICATIONS
The executive director must be committed to CACPC’s mission and should have proven leadership and management experience, as well as the following qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in management/administration, social work, human services or a related field, advanced degree or certification preferred; minimum of three years’ experience in social services/nonprofit management in a senior level position
- Excellence in organizational management
- Persuasive and passionate oral and written communication skills
- Past success working with a board of directors and community stakeholders
- Strong marketing and fund development experience, including grants management
- Demonstrated leadership best practices; aptitude in decision making and problem solving
- Able to create and/or procure professional development and skills-based training
- Skillful in engaging effectively with individuals with diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds
- Proficient in computer literacy, specifically Microsoft products; experience with client database systems preferred
- Must have or be able to obtain a mobile phone; must have reliable transportation and a current Texas driver license or state issued identification card
- Must be able to pass an extensive criminal history check, CPS registry check, and drug screen
Work Week
- This is a full-time, exempt position of approximately 40 hours Monday - Friday, with additional on-call requirements for availability for emergency cases as needed.
- Time spent representing CACPC or conducting other CACPC business away from the main building may be required.
- Out-of-town travel will be required on occasion to attend training and/or events for CACPC.
Physical Requirements of Position
- Prolonged standing and walking, as well as sitting at a desk and using a computer
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, and lift 10-015 pounds to facilitate job responsibilities noted herein

Children’s Advocacy Center of Parker County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Weatherford, Texas. The agency is governed by a volunteer board of directors and is a member in good standing of Children’s Advocacy Centers ™ of Texas and the National Children’s Alliance.
CACPC adheres to the
Texas Standards for Children’s Advocacy Centers. CACPC currently employs seven (7) full-time employees; its multi-disciplinary team Memorandum of Understanding is signed by representatives of every law enforcement agency in Parker County, as well as the Parker County District and County Attorneys’ offices, two area hospitals, Parker County Juvenile Probation, and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
