SUMMARY:James and the Giant Peach
DESCRIPTION:Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford proudly presents Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach\," book by Timothy Allen McDonald\, music & lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul\, produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. This play is directed by Seth Hunter Williams\; the assistant directors are Jesse James and Jenny Ingle\; the music directors are Brad Justice and Shannon Moore\, and the stage managers are Lohi Ejere and Austin Smith. The show begins Friday\, September 2 and runs weekends through September 18. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Theatre Off The Square is located at 114 North Denton Street.\n\n \n\nASL interpreters will be at the performance on Saturday\, September 17 at 8:00 pm. Services are provided through a partnership with the American Sign Language Interpreting Program of Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus.\n\n \n\nRoald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach" is now a musical for the whole family to enjoy! Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Pasek and Paul ("Dogfight" and "A Christmas Story the Musical") and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka\," "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley")\, critics rave: "James and the Giant Peach" is a "masterpeach!" When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree\, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly\, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach\, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities\, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean\, the group faces hunger\, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking\, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success\, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.\n\n \n\nThis is a quirky\, heartfelt\, and family friendly musical and is enjoyable for all ages. Most characters are played by adults - this is not our annual youth production.\n\nThe cast includes: Ladahlord - Shannon Moore\, James - Blaire Stanfield\, Spiker - Kadence Dye\, Sponge - Sally Stanfield\, Grasshopper - Brad Justice\, Centipede - Cameron Cutshall\, Earthworm - Thomas Collins\, Spider - Jennifer Brown\, Ladybug - Jaclyn Justice\; Ensemble: Lisle Justice\, Cavin Dye\, Alicia Duran\, Amanda Livengood\, Lucas Steele\, and Emily Farmer.\n\n\n\nMasks are optional.
