Women's Business Alliance Luncheon

Women’s Business Alliance hosts a Healthcare Education Panel

With the boomer generation living longer and needing caregivers, are you prepared for the daunting responsibility and complex tasks needed to provide the appropriate care for your loved ones? Statistics show there are over 65 million caregivers in the United States, about 72% of those caregivers are women with an average age of 48 and active in the workforce.

East Parker County Women’s Business Alliance will host a Healthcare Education Panel of six professional women that have been in the medical field guiding families through tough decisions concerning the healthcare of their loved ones. The panel will present several different medical scenarios followed by informative suggestions on resources and procedures for a plan of action. The topics will range from in home healthcare and rehab to long term care and hospice. The panel will include: Barbara Alderete, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Clinical Educator with Texas Health Behavioral Health; Shirley Smelley with IntegraCare Hospice; Tatum Smith, IntegraCare Home Health; Teresa Shipley, Willow Park Rehabilitation & Care Center; Mandi Bane, Professional Care Takers and Lori Kennedy with Martin Crest Assisted Living.

Caregiving touches almost every family; the panel will give you the tools you will need to navigate the transition process for your loved one’s care. The panel will offer tips on the support and services that are available in Parker County for these unexpected life changing medical events. Each presenter will have information and a time to speak one on one.

Healthcare Education Panel including lunch catered by Short Chef Creations (Baked Potato Bar w/ Chili & Salad) will be held on Friday, Nov. 6th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fairfield Inn, 175 Alford Drive, Weatherford. Register today online: www.eastparkerchamber.com or call the Chamber for more information at 817-441-7844.
