Out of a desire to try to stretch the theatre into new avenues, Theatre Off The Square is producing their first off season show, which will be presented in a limited run, August 11 – 14, and is not included in their Season Ticket package. Proof is a beautifully written show that won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play and has been produced as a major motion picture. Though patrons will very much enjoy the story, please note that it does have some adult language. Theatre Off The Square hopes that you join them in this new venture! The compelling drama is directed by Ray Shannon, with Kate Cowling and Shelby Milner as Assistant Directors and Drue Pettigrew as Stage Manager.
On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, a troubled Catherine, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, and the attentions of a former student of her father's. Over the long weekend that follows, Catherine is faced with the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit?
