Impact of Overtime Rule Changes on Parker County Business
East Parker County Chamber of Commerce will host Kathy Meyer, founder of KM Consulting, as the guest speaker for the January 22 Lunch & Learn held at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church, 200 South Lakeshore Drive, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Effective mid-2016, The Department of Labor will implement new rules that will expand the number of workers entitled to overtime pay.  These rules significantly change who will be eligible to receive overtime and who can remain exempt from overtime. The lunch and learn will provide you with the information you need to determine the impact on your business (if any). Every business will potentially be affected by these changes.
Kathy Meyer specializes in providing comprehensive, human resources expertise and services to small and mid-size companies.  Kathy founded KM Consulting Group in 2001 after spending 23 years in the financial services industry in Human Resources. Prior to founding her company, she spent 20+ years in executive Human Resources positions at subsidiaries of Citigroup, Ford, and GE.  Located in Weatherford, she is the past 2015 Chair of the Board of the East Parker County Chamber, is a member of the Women’s Business Alliance and the Legislative Affairs Committee.  She is a member of the Weatherford Chamber, serves on the Board of Rotary Club of Weatherford, and volunteers her time in various capacities for CASA, and Crossroads Youth ministries.
