County Judge Mark Riley To Update East Parker County Chamber of Commerce on 2016 Transportation Bond Program
Local and regional transportation leader and County Judge of Parker County, Mark Riley will be the featured keynote speaker at the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon on Feb. 8, 2017.
Judge Riley has been an advocate for regional and local transportation improvement. He led the way for the recent 2016, $76.2 million transportation bond that passed with near 60% of the vote, as well as guiding the county through the 2008, $80 million transportation bond which finished on time and under budget.
Riley will give an update on the 2016 bond and the many projects in the program that affect east Parker County.
As the past Chairman and still a voting member of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Regional Transportation Council, Riley has served as Secretary and Vice Chair. In addition, he is a member of the Regional Clean Air Steering Committee and has also served on the Executive Committee of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition.
Community service has always been core to his philosophy as a leader. Riley was honored with the 2013 East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, the 2013 Community Hero Award from the Careity Foundation, and a finalist for the 2013 Greater Fort Worth Builders Association Community Service Award.
Judge Riley gives testimony to state legislative committees. He was an invited speaker and panel member at an international meeting of the oil and gas industry. In addition, he is an approved Instructor of MCE elective courses with the Texas Real Estate Commission.
The Governor appointed Judge Riley to serve on the Council of Governments Regional Review Committee for 911 Community Block Grants, serving three terms, two as vice-chair. He has served as Weatherford Chamber of Commerce President and as a Board Member for the Parker County Hospital District.
