The City of Aledo Economic Development Corporation announce the Annual Chili Supper,Silent Auction and Style Show, Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 5pm-8pm, at the Aledo Community Center, 104 Robinson Court across from City Hall. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 8 and under. Tickets may be purchased at City Hall, East Parker County Library and East Parker County Chamber of Commerce. The Chili Supper started as an annual event in 1973 as a celebration of the completion of the tennis courts, now the basketball court, and continued to grow each year to benefit the Community Center. The Chili Cooking Crew under the direction of Mr. Terry Hyles, former director of previous suppers, will cook and prepare a variety of chili; beef, antelope and deer, as well as hot dogs for everyone to enjoy. Items for the Silent Auction are donated from local businesses, as well as residents with a culinary reputation for baked pies and cakes. Returning this year will be the Style Show; clothing worn by local models showcase a variety of styles available at Aledo Shops. All proceeds go to benefit the Aledo Community Center, so rental fees can remain low.
