DESCRIPTION:Lieutenant Shane Cartwright will give an up close and personal discussion on what he has seen at the Texas Border. This will be a great luncheon that you will want to attend and bring your co-workers.\n\n\n\nTexas Department of Public Safety\n\nCriminal Investigations Division\n\n\n\nBackground:\n\n\n\nI am a 5th generation native Texan\, born and raised in Galveston County. I am a graduate of Clear Creek\n\nHighschool in League City\, Texas. Following Highschool I enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. I\n\nserved 9 years\, both as a Marine Tank Commander and as a Marine Drill Instructor before receiving an\n\nhonorable discharge. After military service\, I was accepted into the Texas DPS State Trooper Academy in\n\nAustin\, Texas. In 2000 I was assigned to Parker County as a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper. In 2005 I\n\npromoted to the rank of Sergeant Investigator in the DPS Narcotics Service and was assigned to Laredo\,\n\nTexas. I returned to Parker County in 2006\, where I served 7 years as a DPS Narcotics Sergeant and as a\n\nDPS Special Agent. I promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2013 and was assigned to supervise the DPS\n\nOrganized Crime Squad in Tarrant County. In 2018 I was assigned to my current position as the\n\nsupervising DPS Criminal Investigations Lieutenant covering Parker\, Palo Pinto\, and Wise Counties. In\n\n2019 I graduated from Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety\, School of Police Staff and\n\nCommand.\n\n\n\nFamily:\n\n\n\nI raised both of my children here in Parker County. My son Hunter is a graduate of Aledo\n\nHighschool and now works at our area Target store. My daughter Callie graduated from Aledo\n\nHighschool and is currently a senior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock\, TX.\n\n\n\nInterest & Hobbies:\n\n\n\nI enjoy hunting\, fishing\, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
