SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Association 2014 Spring Symposium: Bridging the Gap Between Understanding and Care
DESCRIPTION:The Alzheimer's Association Spring Symposium is the area's premier source for up to date\, relevant information about Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia. The event features a full day of presentations by professionals whose expertise bears on practical and legal concerns related to dementia care. Attendees also have the opportuntiy to meet with representatives from over 40 businesses and non-profit organizations who provide services for families and professionals who care for someone with dementia.\nFamily caregiver registration is $25. Registration fee for healthcare professionals needing continuing education is $75 if received by March 19\, 2014 and will increase to $90 after the early registration date. Six hours of continuing education credits will be offered for nurses\, social workers\, activity professionals\, long-term care and other administrators and assisted living managers. For students\, CNAs\, ministers and professionals not needing continuing education\, the charge is $40. Scholarships for family caregivers are available upon request. All Symposium registration includes morning coffee and a box lunch\, allowing attendees to spend an uninterrupted and enjoyable day of learning.
